Demo mode and your licence
What the free demo does, and how to add a licence.
Demo mode
Without a licence, SetStage runs in demo mode, marked by a Demo badge in the top bar.
- Only the first three songs of your set can be played. The others show a padlock, and trying to play one shows “Demo mode plays the first 3 songs. Add a licence to unlock the rest.”
- Playback stops at an unpredictable moment, between four and twelve minutes in. Pausing does not reset that timer. SetStage tells you when it has stopped playback.
Add your licence
A licence is a .setstagelicense file. It is checked on your Mac, so it works with no internet connection.
- Double-click the licence file, or
- Choose Add Licence File… in Settings, About.
A “Licence added” message confirms it. The Licence card in Settings, About shows your details, and Remove Licence takes it off. If SetStage rejects a file, the message says whether it is not genuine, is for a different product, or needs a newer version of SetStage.
