Common problems
What to try when SetStage and Live are not talking.
| Symptom | Try |
|---|---|
| The setlist asks you to set up, and never fills in | Follow the checklist. Check that SetStageRemote is selected in Live’s preferences and that Live was restarted after installing. Settings, Ableton shows whether the script was seen. |
| “Lost contact with Ableton Live” | Make sure Live is running with your set open and SetStageRemote still selected, then choose Refresh Session in Settings, Ableton. |
| Songs are missing or wrong | Check your locator names, then use Refresh Session. See Name your markers. |
| SetStageRemote is not in Live’s Control Surface list | If you moved Live’s User Library, copy the SetStageRemote folder into the Remote Scripts folder of your User Library and restart Live. |
| A song will not play and shows a padlock | SetStage is in demo mode. See Demo mode and your licence. |
| The phone cannot find the Mac | Allow Local Network access for both apps and use the same Wi-Fi. Settings, Remote shows if SetStage could not start its listener, for example because another copy is open. You can also use the manual host fallback. |
| The mixer says the bridge is unavailable | Install the current SetStageRemote script and restart Live. |
| The Builder says a project already exists | Choose another destination or rename the project. |
| The Builder says “Assign … to a bus” | Open the review step and choose a bus for each unassigned stem. |
