Getting around

The window, its tabs and the transport bar.

SetStage is one window with two panes. The setlist is on the left. A workspace opens beside it when you need more room, for song details, the Builder, setlist management or settings.

The top bar

  • A Demo badge appears while SetStage has no licence. See Demo mode and your licence.
  • The Live chip shows a green dot and “Live” when Ableton is connected, and “Offline” when it is not.
  • The close button quits SetStage.

The tabs

TabWhat it does
StageThe live setlist and, beside it, details for the song you are playing.
BuilderCreates an Ableton set from audio stems.
SetlistsCreates and edits setlists, and chooses which songs are in each.
MIDIStarts MIDI Map Mode on the Stage tab.
SettingsPreferences for playback, MIDI, Ableton, Remote, setlist and appearance.

Choosing Builder, Setlists or Settings opens its workspace, and choosing the same tab again closes it. On Stage, the player icon in the setlist header shows or hides the song details, and the mixer icon next to it opens the mixer.

The transport bar

Four controls sit at the bottom of the window: Previous Song, Play, Next Song and Stop. The Play button turns into Pause while a song plays, and Resume while it is paused. The bar is only active while Live is connected, and Play needs a selected song.
